Photo Contest Terms and Conditions



  1. Eligibility:

    Open to amateur photographers of all ages. Photos must be taken within the City of Petaluma limits.


  2. Submission Limits:

    Each participant may submit up to twenty (20) photos.


  3. Deadline:

    All submissions must be received by October 1, 2025.

  4. Photo Requirements:

    Photos must be the original work of the participant. Submissions must not infringe on the rights of any third party (e.g., you may not submit someone else's photo).

  5. Usage Rights:

    By submitting a photo, you grant the City of Petaluma and its contractors the right to use, reproduce, publish, and display the photo in connection with the Urban Forest Management Plan, related websites, social media, and promotional materials. Wherever feasible, photographers will be credited.

  6. Personal Information:

    Participant names and contact information will be collected only for the purposes of administering the contest and notifying winners.

  7. Selection of Winners:

    Photos will be judged by a panel selected by the City of Petaluma and contractors. Judges' decisions are final.


  8. Prizes:

    Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.


  9. Release of Liability:

    Participants release and hold harmless the City of Petaluma, its employees, and contractors from any claims arising from participation in the contest or use of submitted photos.


  10. Modification or Cancellation:

    The City of Petaluma reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the contest at any time.
